This page collects some measurements related to ZyMS usage. For each example, two "counters" are monitored:

  • web page total size
  • total number of bytes exchanged on the network interface
The most relevant figure is the second listed as the mobile operator uses this "counter" to charge the mobile connection.
The mobile terminal is a Win2k Notebook using a Nokia E61 as modem. The web browser is Firefox. The size of the web page is computed with the Web Developer Firefox extension, while the number of bytes, exchanged on the network interface, are monitored with Ethereal
Compression is calculated with the formula ([TOTAL BYTES WITHOUT ZyMS]-[TOTAL BYTES WITH ZyMS])/([TOTAL BYTES WITHOUT ZyMS])

ATTENTION: these are experimental results.
